Dudley Brown, executive director of Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, changed the gun group’s website biography today after being questioned about whether he had a degree from Colorado State University.
In an interview this morning with the Denver Post, Brown said he was one credit short of graduating from CSU but participated in graduation. He said he did not write the biography on the RMGO site that said he was a graduate.

“Brown is a graduate of Colorado State University, where he was chairman and founder of the CSU College Republicans, and subsequently two-term State Chairman of the College Republicans of Colorado. After Brown’s 1989 graduation, he served as Northern Colorado Director for U.S. Senator Bill Armstrong … .”
REVISED VERSION
“Brown attended Colorado State University, where he was chairman and founder of the CSU College Republicans, and subsequently two-term State Chairman of the College Republicans of Colorado. Brown served as Northern Colorado Director for U.S. Senator Bill Armstrong … .”
CSU records show that Brown attended CSU from the fall of 1984 through the summer of 1989. He majored in political science, but did not graduate.
The gun group has been in the news much of the year, in part because of gun legislation his organization opposed and in part because of a federal lawsuit involving last year’s primary.
